“Hope is not dead. Decency is not dead. We are carrying a fire and keeping the light alive.” – Ryan Holiday

As our business enters its 9th year, I reflect on the sacrifices we’ve made.

While building the company, we didn’t buy fancy cars or set up a swanky office, even though that was the norm in the financial services industry.

Instead, we kept our overheads low and passed on those margins to our customers as extra returns. We practiced the art of delayed gratification and defined our priorities clearly.

I recall in the first year, I was the customer service officer, responding to all the emails. Today, I still randomly jump in on client messages in our community WhatsApp group. For me, it’s a way to honour our clients and to remind our staff that we are not doing anyone a favour. Rather, we are here to serve.

Today, as we grow and expand, and as we hire new managers and executives, I’m reminded that this asset management business began with 100 pioneer customers from my Facebook page. I described what I was trying to do to provide investment education and access, and people followed. Word-of-mouth built this business and continues to do so.

Another reflection – before I started my entrepreneurial journey, I spent 20 years working for someone else. I know what loyalty, hard work and commitment look like. These are the foundations upon which our business is built. Maybe that’s why I am partial to the honest and hardworking, and have centred our company’s mission around it.

I truly believe there’s a path to wealth for everyone – whether you work in a job or run a business. It happened for me, and it can happen for you too.

We even help companies set up investment plans for their staff, which is a fantastic retention strategy, by the way.

So, when you see our campaign theme – “More Than Money” – it’s our way of saying we want to do the business of asset management differently. We don’t just see figures and financials; we recognize human lives, dreams and aspirations too.
