I am a product of God’s word. (God’s word being his daily conversations & instructions and not limited to the snapshot tome we call the Bible.)
I love my Bible and have studied it more times than I can count.
As a practice, I read it from cover to cover at least once a year. And in life, it has had the most impact on me than anything else.
However, I know the Bible is not inerrant.
I have the wisdom to read it with discernment; constantly sifting the words of men from the word of God.
Regularly weighing personal opinions and political agenda against the inspiration of the Holy Ghost. Always judging everything against the character of God and his ultimate law – love.
Being open to the dynamic instructions God gives from time to time.
The Bible molds my heart. It leaves indelible imprints of wisdom and righteousness. It is still my favourite book.
However, it cannot replace my relationship with God – the living dance that occurs daily. The invitation to engage Christ with my soul and spirit. The freedom to be a fully functional and independent being, not a religious robot or “cult” member.
