1. Whenever I want to feel better about humanity and its potential, I watch movies about Alien invasions.
  2. Be careful about asking people you barely know for favours. You have neither earned access nor goodwill credits yet. A social media follow does not bestow the honour of friendship on you.
  3. Excellence is very hard. It is a testament to its nature that it makes things look very easy.
  4. You must consistently do good at an individual level. Yes, you may think you’re having minimal impact but doing good trains you on compassion, generosity and humanity. It’s really about developing a daily habit of character that will preserve you if you’re ever handed power.
  5. When a man likes a good single woman and doesn’t expressly clarify his marital status, he is either a bad married man or a good man in a very complicated situation. Either way, he should clarify his marital status early. Those who will befriend you will still do so.
  6. Many people like the idea of you and not you. Disagree with them or get them angry and they suddenly don’t like you as much. Never trade your humanity for a perfect social media image. Never set your independence on the pedestal of social media expectations.
