Hang in there. Manage your fears. You’ll get through this.

The world has changed. Geopolitics has been redefined. Because of COVID-19, we learnt that all countries are connected. If one country eradicates the virus, the minute it opens its borders, it becomes susceptible. So, every nation must beat the pandemic for the world to be safe again. Immigration and emigration will be redefined. Countries are in desperate need of skilled hands.

In 2020, we realized there’s nothing that can’t be cancelled or rescheduled. Those who thrive on activity were humbled. Our CO2 emissions reduced despite years of reluctance. The earth rested.

But, jobs were at risk. Tourism and hospitality took a beating. Daily earners suffered and the projections of entrepreneurs fell short. Salaries were renegotiated. So many didn’t have the peace to work from home. The pandemic meant fear, depression, loneliness and poverty for some.

You need to manage your fears

During the pandemic, citizens acknowledged that their lives could be threatened by inept leadership. So, new leaders emerged – healthcare workers, NGOs, private businesses. Many turned to experts and not only spiritual leaders.

With everything happening, please breathe. You cannot control what is out of your control. Pick the one thing you can do; what is in front of you and do just that. Check up on family and friends. Share what you can. Preserve what you must.

Hang in there. Manage your fears. You will overcome.
