What would you do if you had no problems?

I ask because life can seem to be all about problems. You’re either trying to crack a difficult need in society, or dealing with the daily snafus that come with work. You may be struggling with healthcare or trying to settle into a new country. Then, there are “village people” too.

But what if you could see beyond your problems? If someone showed you a picture of a happy life, what would it look like? If you could reclaim your energy and time, where would you redirect them to in place of slaying dragons?

Life Beyond the Horizon

I’ve been giving a lot of thought to these questions, as in the last few years, I’ve dedicated effort to difficult things. I’ve barely breathed not to talk of dreamed. But the other day, I imagined peace and contemplated joy, and peeked beneath the cloud of worry.

What would I be doing if I had a clean slate and peace all around me? I began to imagine it, and I challenge you to do the same now. Let’s stretch our faith in this moment.

For starters, I would carve out more time with family & friends. To start with, I would host dinners and soirées; creating a safe space for people to feel loved. I would finally live that dream I’ve been harboring for years – working remotely from a new country every 3 months.

I would give my time to helping people incubate their dreams and launch new inventions. And I would spend much more time with God – praying and communing. I would finally check off my list, the 100 classic books I want to read, and do so in beautiful parks. I would walk for miles on interesting trails and just breathe in nature.

The Other Side of Peace & Joy

These are just some of the things I would do on the other side of peace and joy. The thing is, once you imagine those things, they become palpable. You can feel, smell and hear them. And you begin to wonder why you’re not doing them now. Why you’re waiting for problems to cease before you start living your life.

So, I’ll ask you again. What would you do if you had no problems? Can you see the life in front of you?

Wherever you are reading this from, I want you to know that you are a precious child of God. The world lives inside you, and you are a crucible of immense potential and glory.

Life is not happening to you, you are happening to life. God loves you and he’s got you. In a little while, the peace you desire shall come.

Thank you for reading.
