“You don’t come to work to develop concepts. You come to work to implement what you have already developed at home.” Mentor
I learnt very early on in my career to do my thinking at home. At the time, the pace of my workplace was such that I didn’t have a lot of time to breathe (or even think). I was also working with a team that depended on me to deliver. I couldn’t slow them down.
Now that my work pace has mellowed, I still find that I do my best thinking at home, in the mornings. It’s why I’m slightly irritated when people call me first thing in the morning. (I tend to leave my phone on for emergencies.) They interrupt my most precious moments of the day.
